I had the chance to sit down with Clinton's Culinary Instructors, Chef Catherine Bruce and Chef Joshua Phillips. If you haven't heard about the amazing things going on with CHS's Culinary Arts, you've certainly missed a sweet treat (pun intended).
As they've both poured into their programs, the expectations have risen as well, leading these two chefs intentionally working on build a sustainable product and continuing to grow.

Ninety 2nd through 6th graders competed in CPSD's largest ever chess tournament, competing for top honors and a trophy. Eastside ACCENT teacher Lisa Saucier visited with us to talk about the value in teaching chess to students.
We also had the chance to visit Clinton High School's Culinary Arts class to experience "Sandwich Wars." Chef Bruce's students pitted Ruebens vs Cubans to see which sandwich is the best.
Eastside Principal Mandy Taylor also talked with us about her mission to create an environment where teachers and students live out the campus's call to "Be the Light."

Dr. Andy Schoggin serves as CPSD's sixth Superintendent of Schools. With a semester under his belt, he's gotten to know a good bit about the school district and community. He sat down with us to talk a little about his philosophy of leadership and what he sees as the future of the Clinton Public School District.
This episode is also an episode all about encouragement. Our students have done a wonderful job of journeying through the past two years. Though challenges presented themselves to more than 5,200 students, they have continued to persevere and encourage each other along the way. We get to hear words of encouragement from 11 Clinton students to their fellow students (and to you as well).

I also had the chance to speak with Staff Sergeant Shelbi Constancio who serves as a recruiter for the Mississippi Army National Guard. Recent NFL draftee Cam Akers spends a few minutes talking about his time at CHS and how his experiences with football has allowed him to develop as a person.
